<h3>The highly acclaimed Chelsea Australia Garden Olinda by Phillip Johnson Landscapes and featuring <a href="https://wp.db-a.co/projects/chelsea-australia-garden-olinda/">Decibel Architecture&#8217;s Waratah Studio</a> has captured the attention of an international audience in PRC Magazine &#8211; a Hong Kong-based architecture publication.</h3>
A four-page spread highlights the history of the project, explores the rejuvenation of a former golf course and the reimagining of the Best in Show &#8216;Australia Garden&#8217; at the 2013 Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Chelsea Flower Show ten years on from its initial inception. With the new Waratah Studio at the heart of the native garden, Decibel Architecture and Phillip Johnson Landscapes continue the important dialogue between architecture and landscape, nature and the built environment.

Chelsea Australia Garden Olinda featuring the Waratah Studio &#8211; In 2013, Landscape Designer Phillip Johnson, Horticulturalist Wes Fleming and the Trailfinders Team, designed and installed the award winning ‘Australia Garden’ at the prestigious Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Chelsea Flower Show in London. This was the first Australian entry to win Gold and Best in Show!
Ten years on, Phillip Johnson Landscapes recreated this incredible award-winning Australian Garden in the beautiful Dandenong Ranges Botanic Garden, Olinda, (Wurundjeri Country). This new garden is located on a section of the former Olinda Golf Course and is more than twentyfold the size of the original Chelsea Flower Show exhibit.
This stunning botanic garden supports biodiversity and habitat through the creation of important native habitats for native plants and animals in the area and features more than 15,000 plants from over 400 native Australian species. It includes rare and endangered species such as the Wollemi Pine (Wollemia nobilis), which is listed as critically endangered and other precious species. As the garden matures, it encourages wildlife such as birds, bees, butterflies, and other pollinators, which are so important for the environment.

<h3>Decibel Architecture&#8217;s (formerly studio505) legacy project, Phoenix Valley was recently named one of the &#8220;most spectacular&#8221; bio-solar roofs in the world by leading British landscapers and green roof specialists, Pritchard and Pritchard.</h3>
Noting its patchwork style planting that creates a green replica of the building&#8217;s colourful facade, Pritchard and Pritchard praised the architecture for showcasing beauty as an outcome of sustainability.

Designed by Decibel Architecture, the $250 million mixed-use <a href="https://db-a.co/projects/paloma-paloma/">Paloma Paloma</a> development was launched this week, with a number of two and three bedroom properties now on sale.
Developed by CURA, the building comprises a number of residential spaces as well as a commercial precinct and 138-key hotel precinct on a 5,000 sqm site. Located in Caloundra, the building’s facade is a breathtaking sight that is nothing like the design language of the Sunshine Coast suburb.
“Paloma Paloma’s design feels like a geological artefact brought back to life,” says Decibel Architecture’s Dylan Brady.”
“The project’s exterior re-imagines rock shelves and ocean ledges through mineral-stained exposed concrete.”
“To further bring Caloundra’s landscape into the development, the residential common areas feature rock pools while the residential tower is designed in the image of a cruise liner that has docked at Caloundra’s shore.”
“The balconies are extraordinary with spectacular views while the residential and hotel floor plans are generous. There’s a genuine sense of connection between the residence and hotel and the common areas create moments between people.”

Each of the 74 homes feature private balcony onsen baths, as well as access to a number of amenities including a pool deck, private formal and informal dining rooms, concierge lobby and access to a suite of extraordinary additional services from the hotel and its boutique tenancies. Both hotel tenants and permanent residents have access to a members only Health and Wellness Spa and Gymnasium and a selection of bars and restaurants.
